Hi, I’m Jessica from Mama In A Stitch Blog, and Tamara has kindly invited me to share some of my patterns with you today here on Moogly! With fall in full swing where I live, it has been so much fun to make some cozy patterns for the cooler weather. I love creating simple, easy pieces and projects that are still pretty and fun to wear. Most of the patterns that I’m sharing with you today are made with simple stitches and construction methods for those of us that don’t like to have to think too hard while we create! In addition, all of these patterns are made with Lion Brand yarn which is not only budget friendly, it’s also easy for me to find in stores and online. I love the feel of each of the yarns chosen for these projects. So cuddly!

I'm sorry, but as an Icelander I am offended that someone can just make a blanket and call it Icelandic without it beeing Icelandic in any way. I made a comment on this on the website earlier this summer but now I can't find it and I can't comment on it. Maybe Jessica only wants to read positive criticism on her work. Beautiful blanket, no argument there, but not Icelandic just because it is white like snow.

I'm sorry you are offended Bryndis! I'm sure no offence was meant. In the fiber arts world lots of names are used that don't really relate to a particular country. I myself have designed a "Moroccan Tile" series of patterns, yet of course, it wasn't designed in Morocco, it just reminded me of their beautiful tiles. There is a knitting stitch pattern called "Chinese Waves" that has nothing to do with China, it's just the name of the stitch. It might be a cultural or language barrier, but I appreciate your perspective, and again, I'm sorry that the name of this pattern upset you. I'm sure that Jessica was inspired by the beauty of Iceland, not aiming to insult anyone or claim anything untrue.

Just the same as cornflakes are not just made by Kelloggs, not all the same but the public knows that. Just the same as Tunisian crochet is not always made in Tunisia. but a lovely blanket and a lovely tribute. Well done Tamara.

    Please help.
I purchased your crochet pattern ( Easy Blanket Sweater Crochet Pattern )
In South Africa our yarn is in ply eg 4ply or double knitting and comes in 50gram or 100graam balls.
I have worked out that the crochet hook L 8.0 mm would be our 4mm hook and think I would use a double knitting wool but am not sure what quantity of yarn to purchase.
Hope you will be able to help.

    Thanking you so much
