PBS Passport is a benefit for all of our supporters who donate $5/month or $60/year or more.

PBS Passport is an added benefit available to eligible donors of participating PBS stations (i.e.: you must make a donation to your station to receive this benefit). Typically, the PBS Passport member benefit requires a station donation of at least $60 a year, or $5 Sustainer/Ongoing-monthly gifts.

All you'll need to access Passport is the email address and personal password of your login account you created earlier in the activation process. Then download the PBS Video App on your smart TV, computer, tablet, phone or other streaming device and start watching now. You can also watch online at watch.opb.org.

Each station can set their own qualifications for Passport, but most stations give the benefit to members who donate at least $60 a year, or $5 Sustainer/Ongoing-monthly gifts.

OPB Passport is a member benefit that gives eligible members extended access to an on-demand library of quality public television programming online. The OPB Passport library currently offers members more than 1,000 episodes to watch, with new PBS and OPB programs being added weekly.

Likewise, subscribing to these channels on Amazon does not give you access to PBS Passport videos on the PBS website and PBS app. Amazon subscribers must watch these channels through the Amazon site or app, and PBS station donors must watch PBS Passport videos through the PBS site or app.

PBS Passport is simply an additional member benefit that offers eligible station donors extended on-demand access to a library of videos. It is entirely up to you whether or not you wish to activate PBS Passport.

Yes, if you want to see the best of PBS, you need to become a Passport member. I was given the option of recurring $5/monthly or 1-time donation. I opted to make it monthly. As for the quality of streaming, it has more to do with your WiFi and/or device.

Many videos can be streamed online at PBS.org and other sites and apps without requiring a Passport benefit. And of course, PBS shows will continue to be broadcast to the public over the air.

After you make a donation to your local station, your activation code will be emailed to you within two business days. Memberships are retained at a local level so time frames may vary depending on how your station handles their donations and memberships.
