Red XIII
advertisement
When you first get to EDGE (when and where you meet the snipers), you can see a picture of Final Fantasy VII’s Red XIII under one of the bridges you later cross. Keep an eye out for it (it’s the bridge to the left of the building where you acquire the key card). It will say PET SHOP on the picture.
Experience/Gil Farming
Here are two great places to collect massive amounts of Gil and experience. On the game’s very first chapter, DG Soldiers will respawn over and over again in certain areas (specifically around the gates). Kill them without going through the gates. You can earn seemingly infinite amounts of Gil and experience here.
The other great place to attempt Gil and experience farming is in the chapter entitled “Deepground Strikes Back”. Before entering the HQ entrance, DG Soldiers will be stationed outside. They will respawn infinitely, making this area another place to earn seemingly infinite amounts of Gil and experience.
Gil Hunting in Chapter 11
If you're in need of some Gil and have access to the eleventh chapter, try the following. When you reach the section of the eleventh chapter where you're ordered to kill all of the Deep Ground Soldiers on the central pillar, kill all of the enemies as instructed. Then, stand on one of the circular pathways nearby the pillar. Small robotic enemies will come out of the various holes in the wall. Each will drop 500 Gil when defeated (and 30 experience points as well). With some patience, you can make a lot of cash.
Hidden Stash, Bayonet Rifle and Lucky Barrel
In the mission where you will fight Nero, you will collect 4 items. By doing that you must collect so many cardkeys. One of the items has many laser walls. One cardkeys are hidden behind the shop. Another is in a cargo in the tunnels. One again in a explosive barrel, you can see it clearly when you are in the building where the Deepground gatling guns are. its on a left building. another is where you go in a tunnel, Vincent will say "Up there???."

Now look upwards beside the lights, shoot the hanging mine and it will drop a cardkey. last one is where you will fight nero, dont go any closer on that area, it is only on the end of the cliff, so be careful or you might drop and cannot get back again to finish the mission. if you get a first cardkey go and get the cardkey open the laser walls where it has 2 cardkeys only, second open the one that has many walls, you will get the lucky barrel, second open the one that is beside the gatling and you will get the bayonet, then open the one beside the vents last, because it will only give you a limit breaker, the other one is in the other side of the broken pipeline.
Cacatuar
Before you fight Nero the Sable in the Chapter 10, keep an eye out for some barrels above you as you run on through. There will be four barrels that blow up in a line. One of those barrels contains one of Final Fantasy's best known hidden character "Cactuar". As it falls down to the ground it will start running away and as soon as it gets to the corner it hops on up and disappears.
Addition from B52HVet
A second appearance occurs on the WRO Causeway. At the top of the right hand tower from where you start the scene, look to the very top of the antenna. You'll see Cactuar at the top, doing that weird little Cactuar dance. Not sure what shooting him does, but there ya go!
Addition from Xenolord
A third appearance in Chapter Ten (Shinra's Dark Secret). Towards the end after you get engulfed by Nero's Shadow, follow the staircase upwards a few flights. You will then come to a landing where two laser fences will block off your path forward and back.
Walk forward some to fight four DG soldiers and a rigged vending machine. The next room is divided into four miniature rooms. The first is a causeway with several mines. Go through and arrive at a causeway with four hovermines and several boxes. The next place is a huge gaping hole where explosive barrels are being hurled through. Navigate this and come to a room with a broken causeway. A timer will appear.

Ready your rifle and zoom in across the hall. The Cactuar is small, so center your scope in the middle of the adjacent door, at the bottom. When the timer reaches 0, a cactuar will make a two second appearance, and you have about that amount of time to shoot him.
Dragonfly Fight (Mako Reactor)
In the Mako Reactor Boss Fight with the Dragon Fly and the Gargoyles wait for a gargoyle to fly over the platform your on and shoot it down with the machine gun DO NOT KILL IT, instead jump onto it's head and it will fly carrying YOU for an aerial assualt against the dragon fly. IT will eventually fly all the way around the reactor and back to the platform just shoot it again to land or jump off when your back to the platform. Keep it down or wait for another to repeat.
Chapter 10 Gil Farmer
In chapter 10 - Shinra's Dark Secret, in the map before you go to fight Nero there is an optional Stage Mission where you must defeat 100 enemies. Stock up on all sorts of healing items and ammo, then do this mission. Some of the Deepground Soliders will drop Gil, but the 97th, 98th, and 99th soliders each drop 8,000 gil and the 100th solider drops a Gold Moogle Doll which can be sold for 35,000 Gil. You can do this mission over and over stocking up enourmous amounts of EXP and Gil.
Unlimited Gil Farming (One Chance Per Play)
In the first level, after meeting Reeve and leaving the house (the start of mission 'Assist the WRO') the 5 to 6 DeepGround soldiers you fight there will continually respawn until you head toward the gates with the Mako points.
Between selling the potions they drop, and the experience you can convert to gold (or let them kill you, add to total, then lather-rinse-repeat) you can build as much Gil as you want. Makes buying the final weapon upgrades much easier, as well as maxxing out one or all three of every type of gun.

One-Shot Kills
In Extra hard mode, after you protect the little boy that leads you to the warehouse, you will kill a guard in the final house the kid goes to. That guard drops a keycard. Pick up the keycard and it will do a cut-scene and put you outside the house.
You have to turn around and go through the door you just exited. You will see a lone item sitting under the staircase. Pick it up. It is called the "Toy Gun". Upgrade for 15,OOO gil to get the "Silver Toy Gun", and again for 35,OOO to get the "Golden Toy Gun". A final upgrade for 2OO,OOO gil will unlock the "Ultima Weapon". It basically kills anything in one hit.
Cloud Strife Portrait
In mission where you are in Edge for the first time (while you are rescuing the little boy) you will jump out the window in a cut scene at one point. This is at the part where the boy is showing you where the cardkey is. Look just under the building you jumped out of, and you will see a little black picture of Cloud with his sword over his back. This is easier to see with a gun with a sniper scope.
Mission Mode
Beat the game.

Finish the entire game, then save. If you load the finished game, you can view the cut scenes. You get a cutscene for every Memory Capsule you collect.
Extra Ending
You must get three G Reports before you finish. Do this and you'll get an extra ending after "The End".
